Konsep Dasar In the network, Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) is a data link protocol commonly used to establish a direct connection between two network nodes. It can provide connection authentication, transmission encryption (using ECP, RFC 1968), and compression. PPP is used in many types of physical networks including serial cable, phone line, trunk line, cellular telephone, specialized radio networks, such as SONET and fiber optics. PPP is also used through Internet access connections (now marketed as "broadband"). Internet service providers (ISPs) have used PPP for customer dial-up access to the Internet, because the IP packet can not be sent through the modem itself, without multiple data link protocols.
